BIO
1888 is a production force created by singer-songwriter Brad Rosenberg and drummer Bobby Rangel. Rosenberg started this project with a handful of songs written by himself and Scott Lyman circa 1998-2000. Simultaneously Brad started his career as an engineer/producer by building Clay Garden Studios from the ground up with some help from close friends and local musicians. Specifically, Bobby Rangel (Owltian Mia) joined Brad in 2001 writing new material as well as adapting Brad's previous works for live performance.
From the start Brad's vision was to create a facility where talented musicians in the area could record as well as sit in for other sessions that needed accompaniment. It was this strong community of local musicians and artists who are now part of the 1888 legend - Each player proving to be an essential contributor to the creation and performance of this incredibly original music.
This idea is the true impetus for 1888.
Building a solid line up for the live band was next, and with the current performers, 1888 has found what it needed to put the creative edge on this new collective sound. While most of the material has been written by Brad Rosenberg, key performers such as Daniel Driskell (Head Full of China) also writes material, as well as has mastered the electric and lapsteel guitar-presenting some of the finest leads to date. Bobby Rangel offers his insane drum style to the mix, sometimes writing beats electronically as well. Finally for the live act, Glenn Mungcal(Silverscene) takes over Brad's native position on rythym guitar.
